American Pit Bull Terrier Dog Breeds Pictures – In origin, the American Pit Bull Terrier (nicknamed APBT, Pit Bull) is an American breed. Its early ancestors are coming from Ireland and England. It is medium-sized, short-haired dog from the molosser breed group.
Size/Appearance/Grooming
The American Pit Bull Terrier heights from 46 to 56 cm (from 118 to 22 inches), and it weights from 10 to 15 kg (from 22 to 110 pounds). This breed is amazingly strong for its size. It has shiny, smooth, short-haired and thick coat. All colors except merle are acceptable. Blue eyes are unacceptable too.
Its short-haired coat doesn’t require much grooming. It should be brushed with firm bristle brush and bathed when necessary. This dog is an average shedder.

The American Pit Bull Terrier is loyal, courageous and intelligent breed. It is good with children. It is good with other pets too but only if they are raised together from puppy hood. This dog needs to be taught to respect the humans. It needs long daily walks and plenty of regular exercises. If it’s exercised right, this breed will do fine even in an apartment.
