American Mastiff Dog Breeds Pictures – In origin, the American Mastiff is a molosser-type American breed. It was developed by crossing an Anatolian Mastiff and an English Mastiff. The breed’s creator is Fredericka Wagner.
Size/Appearance/Grooming
Male American Mastiff heights from 81 to 91 cm (from 32 to 36 inches) and it weights from 73 to 91 kg (from 160 to 200+ pounds). Female American Mastiff heights from 71 to 86 cm (from 28 to 34 inches) and it weights from 64 to 82 kg (from 140 to 180 pounds). The American Mastiff has short-haired, smooth coat. It can be found in fawn, brindle and apricot. White marks on chest, feet and nose/chin are acceptable too.
The coat is easy to groom. It should be brushed with firm bristle brush and bathed when necessary.

Temperament/Exercises/Living Conditions
The American Mastiff is quiet, loving and loyal dog. It is excellent with children. It is protective to its family but not aggressive. This breed has natural instinct for an “order in its pack”. This means that the human should act like a leader – he must be higher up in order than the dog.
Like all dogs the American Mastiff should be taken on daily regular walks. It’ll be happy if it’s given regular exercises too. If it is exercised right, this dog will do fine in an apartment too.
